Losing It

Sorry for the blogging hiatus. I've been super busy, out of town 2 or 3 times, lost my blogging mojo, and have been dealing with super sick kids for over a week. I'm still not back in my groove, but I have to blog or I'll lose my mind dealing with the sick kiddos.

We went to Montgomery/Birmingham around February 15 to visit both sides of the family, and when we returned to Atlanta, both kids were sick. I thought they just had colds. After a few days of getting "better," we jetted to Nashville for a major consignment sale, grannie visit, and bestie time. When I got there that night, Harrison had a bunch of gunk in his eye and Emma had lime green snot. After waking up to Harrison having both eyes SEALED SHUT and a visit to an out of town pediatrician, Harrison was diagnosed with an ear infection and gross booger nose (official terminology) and Emma had a bad cold. Once we came home, I thought we were on the mend. Well, it is now March 6 and we are still struggling. Harrison has not stopped having diarrhea since we left for Nashville. After two trips to the doctor, they're still calling it a virus. I'm beginning to think it could be other things.

What are your thoughts on this?

A) gluten intolerance (which normally develops around 9 months of age)
B) lactose intolerance (no clue about this, but I just feel like the dia happens after eating) But, I can't stop giving him formula.

They sent off a diaper for lab testing to see if there was some kind of bacteria or infection going on. But basically, they're still saying it's from the amoxicillin (which we finished on Sunday).

I've had to change Harrison's sheets almost every night for the past week. From dia. Leakage. This morning, he woke up at 4:40 because of it and wouldn't go back to sleep. Y'all. 4:40. That's newborn stuff.

I just want it to stop. I just want to know what's wrong with my boy. Suggestions? Ideas? I'm open. Send help, please.

Also, Emma has vaginitis. I thought she had a UTI, so we went back to the doctor yesterday to find out what was going on there. And getting a urine sample from a 2.5 year old? Not easy. Or fun. Finally, we got one and they said it was negative for UTI, so it seems it's just vaginitis. Irritated. She won't pee pee on the potty. She says it hurts. Break my heart. Let's get these private area issues under control, stat.

Please and thank you.

So, that's what's been going on with us. Hopefully I'll catch back up and keep you all informed of our very exciting lives. :)
