Allow me to elaborate.
First up, Little Bee by Chris Cleave. I read this book on the recommendation of Mrs. Doctor. Oh, Mrs. Doctor, please forgive, but I was not in love with this book. I guess because it was so built up as a NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER that I was expecting "jazz hands!" But, no. Not for me. It was very touching, but it was not as horrific as I thought/was expecting. One of the main characters, Little Bee, is a Nigerian refugee who goes to England, and goes through some rough stuff. The reason she comes to England is because of the other main character and her husband, whom she met while they were on vacay in Nigeria. (Is it who she met or whom she met? Help please...) Anyways, this story was about giving up for others. It was, at times, a look at self sacrifice and true reflection. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't all it was cracked up to be (to me).

Currently I am reading Look Again by Lisa Scottoline. I love Lisa. And so far, this book is not disappointing. It is about a woman who receives a missing child card in the mail and discovers that it looks almost identical to her adopted son. She is on a mission to find out what is what. Very intriguing. It makes you ask the question and examine yourself, "What would you do if this happened to you?" So far, this is a great book for self reflection. I can't wait to find out what happens!

I have many books on the nightstand to read. At least 5. The ones I can think of off the top of my head are: The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes, Firefly Lane, and Dear John. I pick up books every time I go to Costco or when someone recommends them and they sound fab! Husband and I also just got The Love Dare couples devotional and are about to start that. Has anyone done/read The Love Dare???
What are you reading lately that I need to get my paws on??? Do share!
