Disqus

I am thinking of switching my comment moderator to Disqus and wanted to get all of your thoughts on this. I LOVE replying to comments, and you can't do that through blogger. I know you all have this issue too, but what are your thoughts on Disqus? I was intimidated by it when I first started blogging cause you have to sign in and stuff-but it is so much easier/better to reply to people! I also love comments (who doesn't???) and don't want to diminish those.

Thoughts? Ideas??

Do share please. In the comments of course! :D

xoxo
Happy Hump Day!

  1. Hmm...I have no idea what Disqus is. I am the least tech-savvy blogger you've ever met. I thought about tweeting but the whole thing confuses me.

I do know what you mean about being frustrated that you can't reply to comments. I get so frustrated when people don't have their email address linked to their profile so you can't reply back to them. If you do make the switch, let me know how it goes. That is, if you can dumb it down for me to understand. ;)

  2. You could respond to comments via email, but a ton of people don't have it turned on.

I'll be honest, I'm less likely to comment when I have to create a user id & sign in. That's just me though.

  3. I'd have to agree with Mrs. Potts, especially since most of my blog reading is during down time at work...and they block disque so I can't even see comments much less read them. However, if it works for then by all means-do it! I'll still be reading!!! :)

  5. I would love to respond to things too. I always want to answer questions when they come up. Like, no I did not make that dress for Lucy's pictures. I paid too much and probably could have made it. Let us know what you decide. I am interested.

  6. If I had to sign in and stuff in order to comment, it'd make me less likely to comment. Just because I like the ease of regular commenting on blogger. Maybe do a PSA about changing the status from to would help?

  7. I agree. I am less likely to leave comments if I have to sign in. I guess it is just a time issue for me. I also feel like I have so many sign ins, user names, and passwords, I cannot have anymore....ha! But I guess I will still leave comments on your blog if you decide to do it...I promise! :)

  8. I have no idea what diqus is, but if it adds an extra step to the comment process, I'm far less likely to comment. Even having the comments embedded below the text (like this is), I typically have to click "post comment" three times before it actually accepts it. I'm on a mac, which might be why, but it is highly discouraging. Sorry to be a downer. :)

  10. I have disqus on my blog and i love it! It's a lot more user-friendly for readers...as with "J" above, I also have to press comment a few times with the blogger version in order to get it to post. Disqus doesn't require any extra steps for your readers and you can sign in if you want to post comments (It will save your info so when you respond to your readers you don't have to do it every time). I have received more comments from people that don't have a blog or a google account.
