When it rains, it pours

Quite literally. Monday was heinous weather.

Sorry for my absence.

I have soooo many things to share and tell you.

But seriously, this rain is literal and figurative. I am over it. With a capital O.

All you prayer warriors-I need you now. I am hanging on by a thread right now-soo many things are going on! Please lift me up-and know that in lifting me up, you are lifting all those people up that I am praying for. Thank you in advance.

Whew! Where to begin??? You know how sometimes LIFE just happens??

It seems like sometimes last week I pushed the pause button-and went on my merry way. Then, today it was like I was dropped into that life, unpause please. Holy cow! What has been going on??

Here's an idea:
147 emails in my inbox this morning.
124 items in Google reader this morning.
Can.not.handle.right.now Thank you and good day sir.

On Sunday, I was informed that my grannie's home in Franklin, TN was being flooded-
Where was grannie? She was playing bridge. Where? No one knew. Therefore, no one could go get her and tell her what was going on and try to save her belongings. My grandmother is 86 years old. She lives in a townhome. She has lived there for 31+ years. As long as I've been around. Almost everything in her house is an antique. She treasures and cares for these items. Her home is completely destroyed, along with most everything in it. What is she supposed to do? Anyone else would just start over. Get a new house and new "stuff." But that is not really feasible for her. It literally hurts my heart to know this. She is devastated and very afraid/uncertain of what the future will bring. She is leaning heavily on her four children for guidance and leadership, and this is hard on those children since they have their own things going on. But, they will rally for their mother and help her as best they can.
Grannie had some flood insurance, but it doesn't cover lodging. She is living in a hotel for the next two months, minimum. So, how is that insurance going to help? I guess it will pay for the complete renovation of her home.
Below are some pictures of her once beautiful home.

Formal living/dining room-all hardwoods and Orientals. Antique sleigh couch covered in sky blue shirred silk (maybe?), antique claw foot piano, dining table, chairs, hutch, etc. All sitting in about a foot of water. Total mud. Hardwood has all buckled.

Main den. That carpet was cream Berber. Solid mud now.

Her kitchen. The kitchen table was an antique library table. It is gone, so hopefully it was moved to a safer area-the whole entire condo was flooded, so there is no dry place for anything. The kitchen was hardwood. It is total mud and water all over the floor.

The orphanage-as we kids call it-we used to have to sleep in here in our sleeping bags when all 9 grand kids were here. It was our playroom. It had cream Berber carpet too-you can see it now.
I am going up in a few weeks for my bestie's baby shower. I am going to see my grannie. I want to go to the house and see it, but am scared I will completely lose it-and I cannot do that in front of my grannie. I have to hold it together for her. It is so, so sad y'all.
On a happier note, I am proud to introduce my one and only, Niecey Nash,
Miss Scarlet Hinton Macon

6 lbs 4 oz 20 inches long
LOTS of hair!

Yes, she is really that cute.

Sissy and Scarlet. Look how good my dang sister looks. What the what?
She just pushed a baby out. How is this possible??

And yes, I am still on Weight Watchers.

I am down 2.2 pounds this week due to sheer exhaustion, stress, and other stuff. Not cause of eating well, tracking, or exercising, because literally I have not done one shred of that this week. I feel guilty for it too. I would feel like a total new woman if I had time to go to the gym.
I am weighing in at 148.2 lbs. I am 3.2 pounds away from goal.
Whatever. I don't really care this week. Sorry. Moving on.
Oh, I know there are about 8 million other things that I am forgetting to tell you, but I cannot get it together right now to share. Oh yeah, Emma is still sick. She has a sinus infection and croup. She is super fussy and on two medicines. It is so stinkin' pitiful. She is coughing like a little old lady smoker. I haven't been to work since last Friday. I've been out with Emma and went to Bham to be with sissy (don't EVEN get me started on that commute!) I just went back in at half day today, and the room was a total disaster/chaos. Whatever. This week is a wash.
We are going back to Bham this weekend to see the baby again. Sissy wants/needs me to spend the night with her to get up with the baby so she can get some sleep. And, cause I rock, that is what I am going to do. And hubby will be a single parent with Emma. But, we will all be in the Ham together. It's going to be my first Mother's Day!! I am planning a Mother's Day tea for my parents on Friday morning, so I have a TON to do for that. Blech.
I am sorry for not commenting on blogs lately. Give me some time to sort through my reader. I am slowly trying to work myself back into life. :D
And please, say some major prayers.
I am really counting down my days till the girl's weekend (Britt, Potts, BEG). 50 days I believe. Ugh, too long!
Well, I'll go with 17. That is how many days of school are left!
xoxo
