I have the BIGGEST PET PEEVE EVER that I have to get off my chest.
I KNOW I cannot be the only person who feels this way!
When I am at the gym on the treadmill, I am surrounded by people who DO NOT wipe the equipment down. Srsly, it is so gross! I hate it!
Part of me wants to yell at them as they walk away, "Hello! Wipe the flipping equipment down! It is not hard! If you have time to go to the gym then you have the 5 seconds it takes to wipe down the treadmill/elliptical/whatever."
What is the deal? Gah!
Ewww! What's wrong with them?! I feel ya on this one :)I mean...AMEN! LOL
ReplyDeleteWhat about those of us that don't sweat?
ReplyDeleteI am torn on this. I generally only stat on the treadmill for 20 mins and I dont sweat at all and barely touch anything other than "on" and "interval" so what would i be wiping down? just where i touched in case i have germs? ( Im being serious! You need to explain to me bc I feel like i am wasting that spray and touching a nasty rag when I do it)
ReplyDeleteOkay. I am seriously repulsed by these people. Our "gym" at our apt complex has all of 3 treadmills ... one of which always seems to be occupied by Sweaty Guy. Yes, that's his name. According to us. He sweats SO MUCH that he looks like he just stepped out of the shower. I am not even exaggerating. Seriously. And he NEVER wipes off the machine. One time I had been there right after him and didn't know it. I picked up the tv remote ... AND IT WAS SLICK WITH SWEAT AND OIL. I'm sorry. I know this is so disgusting but I had to share. I nearly gagged. The next time, Matt and I were in there on the other treadmills when he started to leave without wiping it down. Matt yelled at him to wipe it down, so he did. I'm pretty sure that's the only time!!! PUKE!!!!
ReplyDeletePeople are nasty-ass hoes. Seriously. They are germulators and think their germs don't get others sick. Even if you don't sweat, you do breathe, you do cough, you do jostle around and bodily fluids and germies from your body get onto the machine. Did you know spit particles from a sneeze fly out at 100 mph and get all over everything? Clorox that shit, kthx.
ReplyDeleteEven when the gym is out of the individual wipes, I go to the bathroom and get a paper towel and wet it with water and soap and wash down the elliptcal/bike/weights. I am a germulator, germy germy human!
Amen, sister! People who don't wipe down the machines get massive stink eye from me!!
ReplyDeleteThat drives me CRAZY. It is gross and unsanitary. I always always wipe down the machines when I'm done (including mats, if I did crunches or stretches or just lay there for a while pretending to "meditate") and I sometimes wipe them down before I workout. Because I am a weirdo.
ReplyDeleteI would never sweat enough (duh, poor walker)to wipe sides off but then again, I don't usually hold on. Bottom line, the woman was a b*tch and VERY obnoxious to be so loud on her phone! So there, you did nothing wrong!
